Fight breaks out in Meadows between group of youths

Police were called after reports of a disturbance.

A fight between a group of youths broke out in the Meadows the day pubs gardens reopened across the city.

Officers were called after hearing reports of a disturbance between a group of people at about 6pm today.

They attended and found the youths had split up, but are still making enquiries on the incident.

A concerned resident said they spotted about “five or six police vehicles” in the area.

A police spokesman said: “Around 6pm on Monday, 6 July, 2020, police received reports of a disturbance involving a large group of youths at The Meadows, Edinburgh.

“Police attended however the group had moved on.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the identities of those involved.”
