Fire breaks out at Edinburgh Chinese takeaway restaurant

A passerby said he saw several appliances driving in Willowbrae Road and could smell burning.

Firefighters are currently tackling flames at a restaurant in the Capital.

A fire broke out at Kam Lo Chinese Takeaway in Willowbrae Road this afternoon.

It is understood the road has been closed in both directions as crews deal with the ongoing incident and evacuate neighbours to the property.

A passerby said he saw several fire engines driving towards the takeaway restaurant and could smell burning.

A spokeswoman for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said four appliances are in attendance dealing with the fire.
