Firefighters battle early hours blaze at Whitburn home

Firefighters have put out a fire at family home in Whitburn, West Lothian, that started in the early hours of Monday morning.

Photos from the scene on Loch Earn Way show how the blaze, which is thought to have broken out at around 6am, gutted the interior of one house, before spreading to a second.

The fire severely damaged an upstairs window at the first property, and burned a hole in the roof of the structure.

Emergency services, including the police, remain at the scene.

Details of any injuries, as well as the cause of the fire, are not yet known.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) has been approached for comment.
