Police fined five drivers for speeding during road checks in Edinburgh over the weekend.

Another motorist saw his vehicle seized and was charged for not having insurance, officers in Edinburgh said.

The checks were carried out over the weekend in The Grange, Newington, Morningside and the Meadows, with officers focusing on those breaching the 20mph limit

Officers posting on Twitter as the Edinburgh Police Division said: “Local officers were carrying our road checks in the #Grange #Newington #Morningside & #Meadows areas over the weekend.

“Five drivers were fined for not complying with the 20mph limit & a vehicle was seized & driver charged for not having insurance. Keeping you safe during #COVID19.”
