Forrest Road: Police arrest man after 'hold-up' at Edinburgh Post Office

Police have arrested a man after a “hold-up” at a Post Office in Edinburgh.

Officers were called to Forrest Road at around 2:55pm yesterday, amid reports of a theft.

Police confirmed that a 36-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident.

According to one witness, a man “tried to hold-up the Post Office on Forrest Road but the Post Office clerk tackled him.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.55pm on Wednesday, 26 August, police were called to a report of a theft from premises on Forrest Road, Edinburgh.

“Officers attended and a 36 year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are continuing."
