Four-mile early morning police chase from Leith to Niddrie after driver fails to stop for cops

A four-mile police chase across Edinburgh in the early hours of the morning has resulted in one man being arrested.

The pursuit, which took place around 1.15am yesterday (Thursday), took police from Leith Walk to Moffat Way in Niddrie, before the 24-year-old driver of a Ford Fiesta was arrested.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At around 1.15am on Thursday, 2 January, officers in Edinburgh signalled for a vehicle to stop on Leith Walk. The driver refused and a pursuit took place which ended a short time later in Moffat Way.

"A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and inquiries are ongoing."
