Gifford drugs bust: 'Substantial' drugs and cash recovered and arrests made in an East Lothian village

Police, along with officers from the local Community Action Team (ELCAT) in East Lothian raided two addresses in the village of Gifford on Monday, January 25.

Two males, aged 33 and 36 and one female aged 40 are to be reported to the Procurator Fiscal for drug offences after 'substantial' amounts of cannabis and cash were recovered.

Chief Inspector Neil Mitchell said: "As promised, and as we move into 2021 we are stepping up our efforts to reduce the harm caused to our communities by drug misuse.

"Thanks to information from our partners we made a substantial recovery of controlled drugs and money which highlights our zero tolerance approach against those involved in the manufacture, sale and supply of controlled drugs in East Lothian."
