Gorebridge man sexually assaulted two women

A Midlothian man has been jailed for two years after he was found guilty of sexually assaulting two women.

John Ramsay Henry Scott, 60, assaulted one victim by placing his hand under her clothing and touching her vagina on several occasions between August 2012 and September 2015.

Scott, from Gorebridge, also exposed himself to the woman and masturbated in her presence while the pair were within a vehicle and at his home at the town’s Barleyknowe Terrace.

Scott was jailed after a trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court

Scott also sexually assaulted a second woman by placing his hand under her clothing and touching her breast while she was asleep at his home in April 2017.

The delivery driver denied the allegations and stood trial over four days at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month where a jury eventually found him guilty of both charges.

Sheriff Wendy Sheehan sentenced him to two years in prison.

Scott was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years.
