Gorgie man hospitalised with serious injury after police called to ‘disturbance’

A man from Edinburgh has been left in hospital with a serious injury after a disturbance at a home in Gorgie.

Police were called to the address in Slateford Green at 6:30pm on Wednesday, where they found a 44-year-old man was seriously injured.

Officers said he was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh by paramedics.

An investigation has been launched into the incident, with police stationed at the scene for hours after the initial call out.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Around 6.30pm on Wednesday, 20 January, officers were called to a property on Slateford Green, Edinburgh, following a report of a disturbance. “A 44-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with a serious injury. “Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."

Local residents reported seeing multiple police cars and at least three ambulances at the scene yesterday evening.

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
