Great Junction Street: Emergency services attend two fires in Leith in the early hours of the morning

Emergency services were called to the Leith area in Edinburgh on Monday to deal with two separate small fires.

The fires were reported in Great Junction Street and police and fire services were in attendance.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they were called to the first fire around 5am.

This small fire was in a common stairwell, and required one appliance.

The second fire was around 5.17am and was in a doorway.

Again, it was a small fire that required only one appliance.

Police Scotland confirmed that they were on the scene of both fires to assist.

They add that there were no injuries in either incident, and that enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of both fires.

The area of the street was cordoned off through out Monday morning.
