Heavy forensics presence seen near Ferry Road as emergency incident unfolds

Several police cars and ambulances were spotted on Monday afternoon in the north west of Edinburgh.

Along with the police and ambulance service, a forensic team was seen near Ferry Road Avenue as the incident unfolded at around 2.30pm.

The area is currently cordoned off with police tape as officers remain at the scene.

An eyewitness told the Evening News that several emergency vehicles were in attendance.

Police said emergency services were dispatched to the area after a woman took unwell in a car park.

The lady has been taken to hospital. Details on her condition are unclear.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.35pm on Monday, April 12, 2021, police and emergency services were called to assist a woman who appears to have taken unwell in a car park near Ferry Road Avenue, Edinburgh.

"The lady has been taken by ambulance to The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Enquiries are continuing."
