Holyrood Road: Police in full PPE arrest man in Edinburgh accused of failing to self-isolate after testing positive for Covid

A man has been arrested accused of failing to self-isolate after testing positive for coronavirus.

The 20-year-old is said to have visited premises in Holyrood Road, Edinburgh, at about 8.30am on Tuesday when police were called.

Officers dressed in full protective gear – head to toe suits with goggles and breathing masks – arrived shortly after and arrested the man over culpable and reckless conduct.

Police at the scene were dressed in head to toe suits with goggles and breathing masks, similar to the officer in the picture.

A police spokeswoman said: "Police called around 8.30am following concern from staff about the behaviour of a man outside their premises on Holyrood Road, Edinburgh.

"A 20 year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are continuing."
