A huge pile of concrete waste has been dumped in an area of West Lothian popular with dog walkers.

Pictures of the mess at the speedway stadium in Armadale have been shared by one local resident who saw it on both Sunday morning and Thursday morning last week.

The fly-tipping incident has sparked anger and frustration among locals, who use the adjacent park to walk their dogs.

A West Lothian Council spokesperson said: “ We are aware of this case, the waste has been dumped on private property and our team is in the process of getting in touch with the landowner.

“It is important to reiterate that fly tipping is illegal and completely irresponsible no matter the situation. If members of the public do come across any examples of illegally dumped waste then we would ask them to please report this to us via the West Lothian Council website or by calling our contact centre on 01506 280000 so our teams can take action.”
