Impersonated police officer in Dalkeith

A 21-year-old man has been charged with impersonating a police officer in Dalkieth last week.

On Friday police received a report from a male victim who had been walking on Lauder Road, when a vehicle stopped beside him and a man got out.

He identified himself as a police officer and requested the male to empty his pockets whilst a further man recorded the incident.

Enquiries carried out by police identified a 21-year-old male as being responsible and he was traced, cautioned and charged, with a summons report submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Meanwhile, a 40-year-old man had his vehicle seized on Saturday in Lauder Road, Dalkeith, after a vehicle check led to a driver being charged for driving without insurance.

And, on Monday, May 25, a 60-year-old man was charged in connection with a shed being set on fire in the Lothian Street Area on Bonyrigg.

A 51-year-old man was charged in connection with various road traffic offences, including drink driving, after being stopped by police in Lasswade on Tuesday, May 26.

A 28-year-old disqualified driver, who was not insured, was stopped by police in the Lasswade area on Sunday. he was charged and had the vehicle seized.

On Wednesday, May 27, police were called to attend Bilston Primary School in relation to reports of a large group of people gathering near the premises.

Officers issues a 34-year-old man with a recorded police warning in connection with drinking in a public place.
