His family in Italy had lost contact with him.

An Italian man who disappeared after travelling to Edinburgh in November has been found safe and well, police have confirmed.

Francesco Loppolo came to the Capital on November 11th but his family lost contact with him.

Police launched a public appeal to help trace the 39-year-old.

And officers in Edinburgh have today confirmed that Mr Loppolo has been found.

In a social media post, police said: "We are pleased to confirm that Francesco Loppolo, 39, reported missing in Edinburgh has been traced safe and well.

"We would like to thank the public for sharing our appeals."
