Jewellery stolen from Royal Mile shop as thieves smash and destroy new Christmas window display
Police were called to Palenque jewellery shop on Edinburgh’s High Street at around 8am on Sunday, November 15 when it was reported the shop had a broken front window.
A police spokesperson later confirmed that jewellery had been stolen.

Hide AdManager Josie Marwick, provided a statement, said: “Unfortunately our High Street shop window was smashed [yesterday] between 7.45 and 8am.
"Police Scotland were quick on the scene and if anyone has any information regarding the incident please contact them directly. Luckily for security reasons we take all items of substantial value out of our windows at night.
“We worked late to add the finishing touches to our Christmas window and we were excited to unveil the results until the incident happened.
"But we want to reassure our customers we will be back open very soon to showcase our new window display and bring a little festive cheer to the Royal Mile.

Hide Ad“In the meantime we want to thank everyone for their concern and support and remind customers that our shop at 99 Rose Street is open for business as usual."
Pictures showed a police vehicle at the scene with patrolling officers.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said yesterday: “Police were called around 8am on Sunday, 15 November, to a report that the window of a jewellery shop on High Street, Edinburgh, had been damaged.
"Subsequent enquiries established that this was now a housebreaking and that jewellery had been stolen.
"Enquiries are continuing.”
