Large police presence spotted in Livingston during incident

Two people have been arrested after police were called to an incident in Livingston last night.

Five police vehicles and an ambulance were called to the Deans South area of the West Lothian town just before 9pm on Sunday after reports of a disturbance.

A 44-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman were arrested and charged over the incident and are due to appear in court at a later date.

An eyewitness reported to the Evening News that a situation was “kicking off”, and spotted the large police presence.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Around 8.40pm on Sunday, 12 July 2020, police attended a report of a disturbance at Deans South, Livingston.

“A 44-year-old man and 36-year-old woman were arrested and charged in connection with the disturbance.

“They are expected to appear at court at a later date.

“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
