Major police operation in Morningside as police 'apprehend man' near Edinburgh's Blackford Hill

A large police presence appeared at Cluny Gardens on Tuesday morning

A major police operation took place in Cluny Gardens, Morningside this morning around 10.15 am.

One local resident told the Edinburgh Evening News there were "three police vans, three police cars and several police officers in bodysuits" in attendance.

The resident claimed police "apprehended a male person at Cluny Gardens" after he was taken out of nearby Blackford Pond.

The Edinburgh Evening News has contacted the police for comment.
