Man, 20, charged over crossbow 'disturbance' in Inverleith Park

A 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with an incident involving a crossbow in Inverleith Park.

Police were called following reports of a disturbance involving the weapon, at around 6.50pm on Wednesday.

A picture published by the Daily Record shows a number of armed police speaking to a group of young people at the park yesterday evening.

A police spokesperson said: “Around 6.50pm on Wednesday, 14 April, we received a report of a disturbance involving a crossbow within Inverleith Park, Edinburgh.

“Officers attended and a 20-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal. A crossbow was recovered at the park.

“There were no reports of any injuries and no ongoing risk to the public.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
