A 31-year-old man has appeared in court following an attempted robbery in Gorebridge on Saturday 11 January.

Midlothian Police said they arrested and charged a man in connection with an incident where a man attempted to steal a 51-year-old woman's handbag.

The incident, which happened on Hunterfield Road, Gorebridge, took place as the woman attempted to get on a bus.

The man appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday 15 January.

Constable Jason McFarlane, from Dalkeith Police Station, said: “We would like to thanks the public and media for sharing our appeal for information in relation to this incident.”
