Man and woman left with serious injuries following assault in West Lothian

Two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries following an assault in West Lothian.

The incident happened at about 11.45pm on Wednesday, May 27, in a Lidl car park on Longridge Road, Whitburn.

A man, aged 22, and two women, aged 21 and 20, were involved in the disturbance with another group. The man was taken to St John's Hospital with a serious head injury and the 20-year-old woman received treatment for an injury to her collarbone.

There are no descriptions of the suspects.

Detective Constable Alan Gibson, of Livingston CID, said: "We have limited detail for this incident and are appealing to the public to help us.

"There are blocks of flats at North Reeves Place which overlook the car park and we're appealing to anyone there who saw anything to contact us.

"Similarly, if anyone has any information in relation to this incident, please contact us."
