Man arrested after sexual assault on Edinburgh street

Police have arrested a man after an alleged sexual near an Edinburgh petrol station.

The alleged incident was said to have taken place on Restalrig Road.

Officers were called to Restalrig Road near the Jet service station on Tuesday night.

Police say a 33-year-old man was charged and will appear in court.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a sexual assault and assault around 11pm on Tuesday 8 June on Restalrig Road.

A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident and will appear in at a later date.”
