The vehicle was reported stolen in Musselburgh on Monday evening, but officers managed to trace it that same day after noticing a van with false number plates on it.

Officers stopped the van and discovered it was the one they were looking for.

A police spokeswoman confirmed a man was arrested and charged in connection to the incident and the van and its contents were returned to the owner.
