Man arrested after transit van reported stolen from Mussleburgh is found with fake number plates

A man has been arrested after a van reported stolen was found with false number plates on it.

The vehicle was reported stolen in Musselburgh on Monday evening, but officers managed to trace it that same day after noticing a van with false number plates on it.

Officers stopped the van and discovered it was the one they were looking for.

A police spokeswoman confirmed a man was arrested and charged in connection to the incident and the van and its contents were returned to the owner.
