A 44-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder in Fife.

Police officers were flagged down on Methil Brae in Leven due to a 42-year-old man who had suffered stab wounds to his leg.

The victim is still at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee and his condition is described at critical but stable.

Detective Inspector Chris Mill, of Levenmouth CID, said: "Officers reacted quickly to the situation and following an investigation led by detectives alongside local uniformed officers and engagement from the community, we were able to arrest and charge a man in connection with this incident."

The 44-year-old is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Wednesday 15 July.
