Man charged over making inappropriate comments to women in public parks
A 28-year-old man has been charged after police received reports of several women being subject to inappropriate comments in Midlothian.
Officers confirmed several women were targeted by a man’s offensive language in multiple parks in Loanhead on 25 March.
A police spokesman said: “Police can confirm that a 28-year-old male has been charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Officers are also investigating an incident where a woman was followed, harassed and shouted at by a man while she was walking at Longniddry Bents in East Lothian on March 19.
On March 18, a female kickboxing champion had to fight off a man who grabbed her while she was running in Lauriston Farm Road, Edinburgh, at about 10.30am.
Officers are still carrying out enquiries into the attack.
Natasha Baldwin, 30, has set up self-defence classes for women since the attack and has put all her energy into training at the martial arts gym she and husband Kevin own.
