Man charged with over 40 bike theft incidents in Edinburgh

A 43-year-old man has been charged with over 40 incidents relating to thefts of pedal bikes and their resales in and around Edinburgh.

The man was charged following enquiries as part of Edinburgh Police’s Operation Agora, an ongoing mission to crack down on bike theft in the Capital.

The man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today, Wednesday, March 17.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Following enquiries as part of Operation Agora, a 43-year-old man has been charged with over 40 incidents relating to the thefts of pedal cycles and their subsequent re-sale in and around Edinburgh.

"He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday 17/03/2021.”
