Man in hospital after being injured by car in Kirkcaldy hit-and-run

A man has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in a late night crash which saw the motorist drive off afterwards.

The collision happened just after 3am this morning in Kirkcaldy, on Denburn Road at Smeaton Industrial Estate, and the pedestrian was left lying injured in the road.

The male casualty was taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment, and police confirmed that the driver left and scene.

An appeal has now been launched in order to trace the driver.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers received a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on Denburn Road, Kirkcaldy, around 3.05am on Sunday, 1 August, 2021.

“The car made off and enquiries are ongoing to trace it and the driver.

“The male pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy for treatment.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident 0804 of 1 August, 2021.”
