Man left with serious facial injuries after four men attack him in Edinburgh street

A man has suffered serious facial injuries after he was attacked by a group of men in the Haymarket area of Edinburgh.
The 27-year-old victim was walking in the Haymarket area of Edinburgh when he was assaulted in what police have described as a targeted attack in Morrison Street at about 10pm on Sunday, 20 September.

Hide AdEmergency services were called shortly after the incident and the injured man was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he was treated for serious facial injuries.
The suspects are believed to have run from Morrison Street to Torphichen Place.
All four men involved in the attack have been described as white, between the ages of 20 and 30 and were wearing face coverings.
The first man was slim, with dark hair and facial hair and was wearing a black hoodie and black bottoms at the time of the incident.

Hide AdThe second man was wearing a grey hoodie and carrying a black rucksack and a skateboard.
The third man also had a bag and skateboard and the fourth attacker was wearing a dark hoodie, dark joggers and white trainers.
Officers are appealing to witnesses to the attack which left the victim seriously injured.
Detective Constable Oliver Healy of Gayfield CID said: “We believe this to be a targeted attack on the victim who has been left with significant facial injuries.

Hide Ad“Extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace the individuals involved, with officers speaking to local residents and businesses as well as examining CCTV.
“There were several passers-by in the area at the time of the incident and I would urge anyone who saw what happened, and it yet to speak to police, to get in touch. I would also ask any motorists with dash-cams who were in the vicinity to please check their footage in case they have captured anything which could assist the investigation.
