Manderston Street police incident: Cordon in place in Leith as police investigate serious sexual assault

A block of flats in Leith have been cordoned off as police investigate a serious sexual assault.
Police in Edinburgh received the report that a 41-year-old woman had been seriously assaulted on Manderston Street just off Leith Walk.

The incident took place around 10.20pm on Thursday, August 20 and Police are currently investigating.
Manderston Street flows into Gordon Street, which has a junction with Easter Road.
The cordon can be seen from the road close to the junction with Leith Walk, with one police officer manning it.
Another cordon is up to the rear of the property, closing off access to the property from the residents’ car park.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Evening News: “At around 10.20pm on Thursday, August 20, police received reports of a serious sexual assault on a 41-year-old woman in Manderston Street, Edinburgh.
“Officers are carrying out enquiries in the area to establish more information on the incident.”
