Manhunt after smash and grab at West Lothian motorcycle dealership

A manhunt is underway after thieves smashed the front window of a West Lothian dealership and made off with an electric motorbike.

The incident happened around 12.40pm on Wednesday, 16 June at premises on North Bridge Street in Bathgate, West Lothian.

Entry was gained by a man who smashed the front window of the business before stealing an Oset electric mini motorcycle.

The bike is described as being mainly red with some black and Oset in white writing.

The man then carried the vehicle down a footpath at the side of the shop leading in the direction of a car park at the rear of the Regal Theatre.

He is described as being white, around 6ft tall and of slim build with short dark hair. He was wearing black clothing.

Detective Sergeant John Bowerbank of Livingston Police Station said: "Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information to come forward.

"This break-in happened in broad daylight in a busy town centre so we would we be keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time.

"We would also be keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage.

"Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting incident 1392 of 16 June, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
