A manhunt is under way after a break-in and theft at a popular sweet shop in West Lothian where the till was stolen.

Entry was forced to the I-Candy store on Follyburn Place, Eliburn, Livingston, around 2.30am on Saturday, 21 December, and the till was stolen from within.

Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and officers are appealing for anyone who may have information on the male suspect believed to be involved.

He is described as around 5 ft tall, slim build and was wearing a grey jacket. It is believed he ran across Eliburn road and into the wooded area at Peel Park after the crime.

Detective Constable Barry Carlin said: "I am appealing to anyone who was in the Eliburn area in the early hours of Saturday morning to get in touch if they saw or heard anything suspicious.

"I would also ask anyone who may have been driving in the area around the time to review any dashcam footage and report anything which may be of use to us."
