DALKEITH:

On May 7, traffic officers detected a smell of cannabis emanating from a vehicle. The vehicle was stopped on Millerhill Road, Danderhall and the 36-year-old male driver failed the roadside drugs test. He was arrested and conveyed to police custody. He was charged for possession of cannabis and various road traffic offences. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On May 8, officers came across a 40-year-old man defacing public property near to the Hardengreen roundabout. He was charged with vandalism and reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

On May 8, officers responded to reports of a disturbance within an address in Whitehill Grove. Upon attendance they were met by an aggressive 29-year-old man. The man proceeded to assault officers, He was arrested and charged for police assault and behaving in a threatening and abusive manner. A 28-year-old woman was also arrested and charged for behaving in a threatening and abusive manner, and obstruction.

NEWTONGRANGE / MAYFIELD:

On May 7, a vehicle was stopped on Dougall Place after being driven in a careless and inconsiderate manner. The 25-year-old male driver was charged with various road traffic offences and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On May 9, officers attended an address on Sycamore Road in relation to a man refusing to leave a property and causing a disturbance. A 40-year-old man was thereafter arrested and charged for behaving in a threatening and abusive manner. He was held in court to appear at court the next day.

GOREBRIDGE:

On May 7, officers attended an address in Birkenside. Upon entry a smell of cannabis was detected. A 40-year-old woman handed over a small amount of cannabis to officers. She was informed that a report would be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

On May 7, officers attended an address in Lawrie Terrace in relation to an on-going disturbance. On arrival officers observed a 21-year-old man brandishing a weapon. He was thereafter arrested in connection with police assault and possession of an offensive weapon. He was held in custody until sober and released to appear at court at a later date.

On May 9, officers attended Kennington Avenue due to calls of a disturbance in the street. Upon arrival, an 18-year-old man was found to be behaving in a threatening and abusive manner. He was issued with a recorded police warning.

PENICUIK:

On May 5, officers were called to an address in Edinburgh Road due to an on-going disturbance. On arrival a 30-year-old man was acting in a threatening manner and refusing to desist. He was arrested and charged in connection with various offences including possession of an offensive weapon. He was held to appear at court the next day.

BILSTON:

On May 4, officers attended an address in Castlelaw Crescent, where a 41-year-old male occupant was arrested for behaving in a threatening and abusive manner. He was held in custody until sober and issued with a recorded police warning.
