Duff also carried out a sex act on the man while he was asleep and incapable of giving his consent at an unknown address in Edinburgh in 2013.

The pervert also assaulted a second man in a similar manner at an address in Glasgow in November 2016.

He attacked a third victim the following year by removing the man’s lower clothing and performing a sex act on him while the victim was drunk and incapable of giving his consent.

Duff pleaded guilty to the three offences during an earlier appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court and he returned for sentencing on Wednesday.

He also had not guilty pleas to a further three offences of indecent and sexual assault accepted by prosecutors at the Crown.

Sheriff Kenneth McGowan placed Duff on the Sex Offenders’ Register for three years and told him he must carry out 260 hours of unpaid work in the community as punishment for his offending.

Duff, of Abbeyhill, Edinburgh, was also placed on a supervision requirement for three years.

Under the supervision order, he will be closely monitored by specialist social workers and subject to restrictions placed on convicted sex offenders. These can include reporting his movements to police, registering any change of address and submitting computer equipment and mobile phones for inspection.
