Police called to incident on Edinburgh road

Police are dealing with an ongoing incident on Craigmillar Castle Road this evening.

Police were called at 5:50pm.

Officers responded to a report of concern for a person shortly before 6pm.

A spokeswoman for the force said part of the road was closed off near Niddrie crossroads but that this will likely reopen soon.

The spokeswoman said: "Police are in attendance at Craigmillar Castle Road following a report of concern for a person."

The spokeswoman was unable to provide more details on the circumstances of the incident, which is ongoing.
