Police Scotland had to deploy the force helicopter to deal with what is understood to be a brawl between a number of youths in the Lothians.

The incident happened on Monday night and saw heavy police presence in Wallyford, East Lothian after a number of youths are understood to have been involved in a fight in the area.

A number of local residents said the Police Scotland helicopter was in the area after a number of youngsters converged on the area amid reports of a fight.

Police said there were reports of “a disturbance” in the area

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.50pm on Monday, 22 February, we received a report of a disturbance near to the Wallyford roundabout.

“Officers attended and carried out a search of the area. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

Witnesses took to social media, claiming that around six youths had attacked another.
