Police in Edinburgh investigate Gilmerton assault

Officers were called to Carter Mews at around 5:35pm yesterday amid reports of a 46-year-old man being attacked in one of the houses on the street.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed that the man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
He has since been discharged.

Hide AdPolice remained at the scene late last night, guarding the entrance to one property for more than five hours while forensics teams took photographs inside.
An investigation has been launched into the attack, with officers in Edinburgh appealing to the public to help establish what happened.
A force spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 2354 of Thursday 8 October 2020.
“Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given anonymously.”
