Officers located the boys in the local area after the incident.

A Currie resident said: "It was shocking to hear what had happened last night. There have been numerous issues recently which is upsetting.

"This is a nice area and it's a shame a small group of youths are tarnishing it.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of two male youths assaulting a man and causing a disturbance within a shop on Pentland View Court, Currie, around 8.40pm on Saturday, November 21.
