Police make arrest and issue fine at Royal Mile shop

Police in the capital were called to a Royal Mile gift shop, after reports of a breach of lockdown rules.

Officers confirmed that they were called to Neanie Scott on Canongate on Saturday 30 January.

A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged and a 29-year-old man was issued a fixed penalty notice at the premises. Neither were members of staff.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers attended at a shop on Cannongate at 12pm on Saturday, 30 January, 2021, after reports of a breach of coronavirus regulations. A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged and another man, aged 29, received a fixed penalty notice.”
