Police seal off cycle path to investigate abandoned car

Police have sealed off an Edinburgh cycle path while an investigation is carried out.

Police have closed the path.

Witnesses reported on Saturday afternoon that officers had taped off a section of the Hawthornvale cycle path as it passes under Craighall Road.

Police say that the investigation revolves around an abandoned vehicle.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police are making enquiries in relation to a vehicle, believed to be a Seat crossover, abandoned in the area.

"Anyone with information about the vehicle should contact police via 101."
