Police search for sex pest following incident on Ferry Road

A SEX pest is being hunted by police after a woman was harassed in the street.

The 19-year-old victim was walking in Ferry Road to catch a bus when a man began to follow her and made inappropriate comments.

She raised the alarm with a male passer-by while she waited at a bus stop on Crewe Road South.

He stayed with her until she boarded a bus.

The incident happened some time between 5.30 and 6am on Friday in Ferry Road.

Police are keen to track down the sex pest, who is described as white, around 25-years-old, about 5ft 7ins tall with an average build, clean-shaven build and wearing a grey hooded top.

Detective Constable Nicole Napier, from the Public Protection Unit at Fettes Police Station, said: “This incident left the woman feeling very distressed and we are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry to trace the man responsible.

“As part of this investigation we would also like to trace the man who waited with the victim at the bus stop, as he may have useful information.”
