Police seeking black Mercedes after Livingston hit-and-run

POLICE in West Lothian are appealing for witnesses after a hit-and-run road collision in Ladywell, Livingston yesterday morning.

The incident happened between 8.45am and 9am and involved a black Mercedes car colliding with a Ford Focus on Thymebank.

The impact caused both vehicles to bounce into the air with the Ford Focus landing in bushes on the roadside verge.

The Mercedes driver failed to stop, speeding from the scene of the collision.

It is also missing a licence plate with the registration E18 MDR that was found at the scene and appears to be fake.

The driver is described as being a white man in his late 20s with short black hair and of slim build.

Police Constable James Addison said: “The parked Ford Focus sustained considerable damage and I believe the suspect vehicle would be as badly damaged, specifically to its front nearside area.

“We are looking to speak to anyone who saw this collision and who may have information that can assist with our inquiries.

“Anyone with information is asked to please contact us on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
