Emergency services are dealing with a car fire on a busy Edinburgh street.

Emergency services received reports at around 6.30pm today that a car was on fire at the junction of Queen Street and North Castle Street in Edinburgh.

It is understood that the road is currently blocked and cars are being diverted as emergency services deal with the ongoing incident.

A spokesperson from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call at 6.32pm to reports of a car on fire at the junction of Queen Street and North Castle Street.

"We have got one appliance currently on scene."

Police Scotland have been contacted for a comment.
