A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said two appliances and a crew are still at the scene tackling the flames.

The area affected is a 10m x 10m patch of grass.

Crews were also called to a fire last night in the Whinny Hill area of Holyrood Park.

About 50m x 50m of grassland and gorse bushes were alight.

The fire service has seen a spate of wildfires and deliberate fires in the last month during the country’s spell of warm dry weather.
