Speeding driver clocked going almost 100mph on 50mph West Lothian road

They were doing almost double the speed limit.

A driver who was travelling almost double the speed limit on a busy West Lothian road has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Road Policing Scotland took to Twitter to warn motorists of the dangers of breaking the limit after carrying out speed enformcement on the A71 near Kirknewton.

Writing on Twitter, police said: “West Lothain Road Police carried out speed enforcement on the A71 near Kirknewton.

“One driver detected at 91mph in a 50mph zone. Driver will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal. #DontRiskIt #Fatal4 #SlowDown”
