A teenager has been arrested and charged after a BB gun was fired on a bus in Musselburgh and Prestonpans.

The youth allegedly fired the BB gun at members of the public on a Lothian bus in East Lothian on the evening of March 30.

The police responded to a number of calls from those who observed the incident.

A teenager has been charged after firing a BB gun in East Lothian.

A statement from East Lothian police said: “Local Response and Community Officers have worked jointly with Lothian Buses and East Lothian Council to progress enquiries into this matter and this has led to the identification of the teenage male responsible.

“The BB gun has been recovered and the male charged with Culpable and Reckless conduct, together with an assault.

“A report will be submitted to the Youth Justice Officer.

“Police in East Lothian will continue to work with partners to reduce anti-social behaviour and would like to thank members of the public for their assistance in this matter.”
