Two men arrested in separate drink driving incidents in North Berwick
Officers in East Lothian arrested two men following unrelated drink driving incidents on the same high street in the early hours of the morning.
Police say a 22-year-old man and a 55-year-old man were caught driving while over the limit in the early hours of Tuesday, May 18, in North Berwick’s High Street.
They said that the incidents were separate and unrelated from one another.
In a statement released on social media, a force spokesperson said road checks would continue to be carried out across Scotland.
They said: “A 22-year-old man and a 55-year-old man have been arrested for driving whilst over the prescribed limit of alcohol. Both have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
“Police Scotland take a zero tolerance approach to drink driving and any such incidents will be dealt with robustly. As part of our local policing plan commitments, we will continue to proactively carry out road and speed checks across the county.”
