The German Shepherd/ Belgian Shepherd-cross pups were snached from Debbie Smith’s Prestonpans home on Monday.

The 31-year-old called police after she discovered the break-in and theft, thought to have happened between 1:45pm and 5:10pm.

But a Facebook post from East Lothian police on Wednesday evening confirmed the pups have since been found “safe and well.”

The post added: “Enquiries into the matter remain ongoing. Police Scotland would like to thank everyone who offered their assistance in relation to this matter.”

The post has received lots of reaction on social media and police have been given plenty of praise.

One, Laura Messer, said: “Good news, well done to the police helping to get them home safely.”
