Waverley Station: Trains running again after earlier emergency incident

Police, ambulance and fire service had all been in attendance on Sunday evening.

Passer by Matt Donlan took the pictures of the scene showing the police surrounding the station.

Matt said: “I’ve rarely seen police at in incident as relaxed or laid back while closing off a decent sized area.”

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed that the incident was being handled by Police Scotland.

Craigmillar Castle Park: Body found at Edinburgh being investigated by police

On Sunday evening, Scotrail tweeted: “Disruption caused by the emergency services dealing with an incident near the railway earlier today at Edinburgh has now ended. Services are no longer affected by this problem.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.10 pm on Sunday, 23 August, 2020, police were called to a man on scaffolding on North Bridge, Edinburgh.

"Emergency services attended and at around 8.10pm the male safely alighted from the scaffolding.
