West Lothian crime: Land Rover Discovery deliberately set on fire in residential area of Whitburn

A car was deliberately set on fire in a residential street in West Lothian in the early hours of Sunday morning, police have said.

A silver Land Rover Discovery was found ablaze at around 2.30am in Mains Place, Whitburn. The fire also spread to a nearby detached garage. It was put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no one was injured. Officers in West Lothian are appealing for information.

Detective Constable Jennifer Rogers said: “It is fortunate that no one was hurt. The fire spread to a nearby building which was also damaged. We are appealing for anyone with dash-cam or private CCTV footage that could assist us with our investigation to contact us.”

Another Land Rover Discovery was found deliberately set on fire in the same street one evening in February this year.
