Wheelie bin fires on the rise in Edinburgh, fire service warns

Residents have been warned to secure their bins following a spate of wheelie bin fires in the Capital.

Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) issued a warning on Tuesday after receiving multiple calls about bins being set alight.

An SFRS spokesman said: “We're continuing to get calls about wheelie bin fires.

"If your wheelie bin is easily accessible, please take a few minutes to move it to a safe and secure location where it cannot be taken.
